Scary Lust Of Free Music Downloads.

A recent status update by Beatmaker/Producer Dominic D-One Sangalakula has provoked a wave of positive thoughts in my Mind. The status was a response to that unwelcome habit of always asking for download links whenever an artist releases or announces about releasing new music. Our music industry today is where it should have been 10 or even 15 years ago and one major contributing factor is that SCARY LUST that almost every Malawian has for FREE DOWNLOAD LINKS.

For a song to come out, a lot of resources are put into the production of such, namely; Time, Money, Electricity plus other numerous factors from which the artists must get returns.

Malawians MUST learn to spend to get music and am NOT talking about AIRTIME expenditure,they must adopt a spirit of buying music. Serious artists who make good music are forced to put up free music because of the GIMME THE LINK culture. They know that even if they put their music on sale, some John will just wait to get the music either from the internet or from some other Jim through bluetooth. People in countries like South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana are always proud when they own ORIGINAL COPIES of albums from both established and promising new artists.Malawians should adopt the same culture.

And for the artists, learn to make good music that people will be willing to spend their hard earned Chilembwes on.
