Another Cypher In Malawi HipHop Industry.

In whatever Malawi Hiphop industry history holds, today, Direct Muzik Group has become a big part of it.

Direct Muzik Group (DMG) is an independent record label founded by hiphop artist, producer Genii Blakk (Daniel Mkwezalamba)  alongside Brave Mkandawire and an underground member Jhon O' Dreams (Elwyn Kachere).

The group, which also consists of Eword, Skillz Maniac & Comrade, filmed the cypher late last year at an undisclosed location in downtown Blantyre.

Genii Blakk recently spoke with Khunation Mag® about why throwing up a cypher & more.

"DMG Cypher is a promotional performance showcasing what the group(Direct Muzik Group) is all about. By shooting the cypher we are trying to promote ourselves plus up and coming artists out there. We have a project titled UNTOLD thats yet to be released so with the cypher and the singles we released its a good look."

He also revealed that the first part of the cypher features Comrade, Trappa, Spokesman, Liwu, David Rock, E Word and Genii Blakk.

On why the cypher, he said, "Looking at the status of hip hop in this country we had to put out a good display of art for the people to see. Malawi has been dying to see such splendid display, tired of the same old artists that are stuck in the indurstry with the same songs, we had to push such an event. Cyphers assist largely on promoting artists, with that we are guaranteed that the nation will regconize hip hop to be an art and not just a playground for the missunderstood."

"Malawian hiphop artist need to learn that talent is nothing without hardwork. As Direct Muzik Group, we make sure that everything we do is without compromise. This is to showcase that Malawi is to be included on the international/global hiphop scene."
